Buenas Kaong White (Sugar Palm Fruit in Syrup) 340g
Kaong is the fruit of the sugar palm, boiled and kept in a light syrup until it turns translucent and slightly chewy. The white version is the plain one, the workhorse of the halo-halo glass, and it carries a gentle banana note from the flavouring.
No Filipino dessert trolley is complete without a tub of it: halo-halo, fruit salad, gulaman, or simply spooned over ice cream.
Ingredients:
Sugar Palm Fruit (60%), Water, Refined Cane Sugar, Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid), Flavouring (Banana Essence), Preservative (Sodium Metabisulphite) (Sulphites).
Allergens:
Contains sulphites.
How to use:
Spoon the kaong out of the syrup and scatter it over halo-halo, fruit salad, gulaman or ice cream. Add a little of the syrup too if you want it sweeter, or rinse the fruit first if you do not.
Storage:
Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Once opened, keep refrigerated in its syrup and use within a few days.
