Squid Brand Premium Fish Sauce 725ml

Squid Brand is the fish sauce Thai cooks argue in favour of, and the premium grade is the pale reddish-brown one made from anchovies left to ferment for around eighteen months. A few drops do what a spoonful of salt cannot, and it is the backbone of everything from green papaya salad to a simple dipping sauce of chilli and lime.

The 725ml bottle is the size you buy once you have stopped pretending you will use it sparingly.

Anchovy Extract (Fish), Salt, Sugar.

Contains fish (anchovy).

How to use:
Use it as the salt in Southeast Asian cooking: a splash into soups, curries, stir fries and marinades, or mixed with lime juice, chopped chilli, garlic and a little sugar for nam pla prik to spoon over rice. Add it towards the end of cooking so the aroma stays bright.

Storage:
Store out of direct sunlight at room temperature. The manufacturer does not recommend refrigerating it after opening.
