Wang Korean Stick Rice Cake (Tteokbokki) 600g

These are the fat, chewy rice cylinders that make tteokbokki, the Korean street food snack drowned in sweet chilli sauce and eaten from a paper cup. Made from almost nothing but rice, they hold their shape in a simmering sauce and go springy rather than mushy.

The 600g bag comes as four 150g portions, so you can cook for one without opening the lot.

Ingredients:
Rice, Refined Salt, Ethyl Alcohol.

Allergens:
No allergens declared in the ingredients. Please check the pack for any 'may contain' warning.

How to use:
If the rice cakes have firmed up, soak them in warm water for a few minutes and separate the sticks. Simmer in your sauce or soup for around 5 to 10 minutes until soft and chewy all the way through. Classic tteokbokki is gochujang, a little sugar and stock, finished with spring onion and fish cake, but they are just as good dropped into stews and hotpots.

Storage:
Store in a cool, dry place and use by the date on the pack. Once opened, keep refrigerated and use within a few days, or freeze.
